We support our staff in developing their full potential by providing training, mentoring and the chance to learn forward-looking new technologies.
As the saying goes: life is a two-way street. As such, a little bit of give and take goes a long way in business as much as anywhere else. Naturally, at TEKenable we want to empower our customers with the best possible technologies and so, in order to do this, we need great people who are knowledgeable and passionate. For us, this means supporting our team and giving them the chance to learn and grow.
Given the global talent shortage, we are more than aware that technologists have a world of opportunities in front of them. Indeed, according to a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the tech talent shortage will swell to more than 85 million tech workers worldwide by 2030.
TEKenable, like every technology business, is on the sharp end of this statistic, but our response to this reality is to do our utmost to be the best place for technologists to work. In other words, give and take: we know our team gives us their best efforts and in return we try to expand their horizons – and though we never want to lose anyone, we always want to expand their future prospects.
In practice, this means that TEKenable is focussed on ongoing learning and growth.
Needless to say, then, part of how we invest in the development of our people is by providing access to the latest technology, but we also offer the real prospect of progression, including through both professional development and technical training programmes.
Grow with us
Training opportunities provided to TEKenable team members include the ability to gain recognised certifications from our key technology partners, including Microsoft and Salesforce among others. However, we go further: alongside certification, core aspects of our working culture are the provision of mentoring and exposure to new, up and coming technologies. As a result, our team can rely on having close working relationships, including one-to-one mentoring, that will allow them to further their careers.
The statistics back this up, too. As part of our Great Place to Work certification, our staff were asked a number of questions about their experience 87 per cent of TEKenable staff agreed with the statement “I am developing professionally working here” while 86 per cent agreed that they are “offered training or development to further myself professionally”.
Over four fifths of survey respondents agreed that “we celebrate people who try new and better ways of doing things, regardless of the outcome” and that “promotions go to those who best deserve them”. Is it no surprise, then, that our staff expressed high levels of trust in TEKenable, as we see them as more than just resources. Instead, we are partners who will grow together.
Our Great Place to Work score proves that is working: 87 per cent of TEKenable staff reported that TEKenable was a place of “innovation and continuous improvement” and 84 per cent said “excellent performance is recognised”.
Our culture is also open to learning by doing, even if that risks failure: 81 per cent said we “celebrate people who try new and better ways of doing things, regardless of the outcome”.
Overall, the Great Place to Work survey gave TEKenable a score of 83 per cent for “Career & Development” – a figure significantly higher than our peers and competitors.
It’s not all about us, though. When it comes to having the best people join our team and supporting them in developing their careers, we want it to be about you.
